MSGT JO ANN DYSERT

MSGT Jo Ann Dysert was born January 24, 1937 in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. She became an Administrative Supervisor and had been in the USAF since 1955.

 

August of 1971 she was selected as 99th Civil Engineering Squadron Non-commissioned Officer of the Month upon performance of duty, judgement and ability to assume responsiblilty, accomplishement, leadership, self-improvement, personality, appearance, manner and composure, participation in unit activities, and moral and financial responsibility. This was a definite indication as to her calibre of NCO and reflected highly upon the 99th Civil Engineering Squandron at Westover Air Force Base, Massachusetts.

 

In 1978 she was selected as the Outstanding Air Force Executive Support Superintendent. Brig. General William W. Hoover expressed his personal gratitude for the superior manner in which she supported the Center Mission at Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado. He stated "It was a pleasure to have a Non-Commissioned Officer of her obvious competence on the Lowry team. Her consistent display of initiative, good judgment and managerial expertise is truly commendable,"

 

In March of 1980 she became reponsible for supervising overall administration at Lowry Air Force Base for approximately 350 squadron personnel. She was the squadron's First Sergeant exercising general supervision over assigned enlisted personnel to assist the commander in managing squadron activities. As supervisor she inspected facilities and personnel; initiates corrective actions when standards are not met; she advises and assists the commander and agency chiefs in matters of morale, welfare, disciplince, and quality control.

 

She served as an administrative superintendent in Korea, Okinawa, Hawaii, and Colorado, USA and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. She was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf cluster, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with five Oak Leaf clusters, and the National Defense Service Medal.

 

She retired in 1981 and died October 28, 2002 in Casper, Wyoming.
