BRIG. GENERAL PAUL T. WEYRAUCH

Brig. General Paul Turney (Pete) Weyrauch was born 22 July 1941 in Alpine, Texas, the son of Major General Paul R. (then Captain) and Margaret F. Weyrauch.

 

Brigadier General Weyrauch was an Assistant Executive Officer upon finishing the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at the United States Army Artillery and Missile School (1963).

 

He commanded Battery A, 2d Howitzer Battalion, 5th Artillery in the United States Army Europe (1966); and Battery C, 3rd Battalion, and later Assistant S-3, 6th Artillery, U.S. Army Vietnam. After taking an advanced course (1968) he then served as an Aide-de-camp to the Deputy Commanding General; Assistant Secretary of the General Staff, Sixth United States Army, Presidio of San Francisco, California (1970); Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, U.S. Army Vietnam (1971); S-3 (Operations), 1st Battalion, 78th Field Artillery, Fort Hood, Texas (1974).

 

He was then a student at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and at Tulane University (1978).

 

Following he became the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans in Washington DC.

 

His personal awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star w/”V” device, Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters. He was also awarded the Mississippi Magnolia Cross in recognition of his work with the MSARNG. He is authorized to wear the Parachutist Badge and the Army Staff Identification Badge.

 

He retired from the Military June 30, 1991.
